Learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

The course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Evaluations consistently show that MHFA training is associated with improved knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with or developing mental illness. It is associated with decreased stigma and an increase in help provided.
