A collaboration between Connecting 2 Community Circles & selectability Training

Twenty Successful applicants will receive invaluable non-accredited hands-on skills and experience through Connecting 2 Community Circles' Connecting 2 Nurses community-based nursing and carers program.

Plus, a Certificate III in Individual Support -Disability (CHC33015) qualification with selectability Training.

It is proudly fully-funded by the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee initiative and Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) program, so successful participants will receive the training with no out-of-pocket expenses.

This innovative initiative is designed specifically to allow participants to develop skills, knowledge and industry experience that increase their job performance and employability. 

It will encourage participants to develop sustainable employment pathways for prolonged, successful employment.

Career Pathways

Completing this course will create a career pathway into the health sector you will be classified as a qualified AIN (Assistant In Nursing) with the ability to work in:

  • a hospital environment
  • aged care facility
  • disability care role
  • individual carer environment and;
  • other suitable care positions.

COURSE DETAILS

Practical Skill Topics Covered

Delivered through Connecting 2 Communities Circles' community-based nursing (AIN) & carers program.

  • NDIS & Community Services Standards
  • Manual Handling for Community Services
  • Gastrointestinal - PEG, Nasagastric tube feeding, nutrition, bowel care & stoma care
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Integument - skin care, pressure risk assessment and care & basic wound care
  • Renal - urinary system, catheters, urodomes, urostomies & continence
  • Endocrine System - diabetes management and endocrine conditions
  • Central Nervous System - epilepsy & muscle contractions
  • Cognition - Dementia and behaviour management
  • Mental Health in the Community
  • Cultural awareness training

Supervisors and Mentors will offer individual support to transition participants into long term sustainable employment, assist with developing care provider skills and knowledge, skills sets and identified career pathways.
